NCIA members are invited to a special town hall for an in-depth government relations update at a pivotal moment for our industry. As Congress returns from August recess to take up issues such as SAFE Banking and federal appropriations—and as the Trump administration reviews a potential rescheduling decision—this session will deliver a candid briefing on the current federal landscape, including developments across all three branches of government and the advocacy strategies NCIA is deploying for the remainder of the year.

You’ll hear directly from NCIA’s Director of Government Relations, Michelle Rutter Friberg, on critical developments from Washington, how upcoming court actions may reshape the conversation around cannabis, and what actions members can take right now to help move the needle on issues including 280E, rescheduling, and pending appropriations riders.

The town hall will also include a brief organizational update following the departure of NCIA’s founding CEO and the recent appointment of longtime NCIA leader Brooke Gilbert as the organization’s Chief Operating Officer. NCIA Board Chair Adam Rosenberg will join to introduce himself and discuss how the board is supporting this transition to position the organization for continued growth and advocacy impact.

This is an opportunity for cannabis business owners and operators to engage directly with NCIA’s team, ask questions, and help steer the organization’s priorities during this critical phase for both federal reform and the industry’s broader movement.
